Hi Fairbird,
You might have just pointed me in the right direction, ever since I first installed optiflasher V2.0.0.9 at start up I always get an Access Violation message at address 00442803 in module "dreambox-optiflasher-pro-ultimate-E2-V2.0.0.9.exe.read of address 00000000. I have always hit OK and optiflash starts and seems to work OK, could this be the problem?
I've just found version 2.0.0.3 and this fires up without the error message.
Can I transfer my registration key to this version?

Thanks
Dave

Hi Fairbird,
I tried to use the older version of optiflash but couldn't get it to accept the registration key even though the request key was the same!!
The problem I've got now is I'm running out of time to send back the a8p sim as it took nearly seven weeks to arrive, so I've only got a couple of days to decide if I turn it into a clone box with a 2.10 sim.
Any ideas how to get the older version of optiflash up and running would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

Dave

As I said you have connection problem...
-Try other pc (Win xp) better
-Try other Rs232 cable
-check you firewall and anti virus

Also the correct way to change sim is this steps:
1-Put old sim inside box don't remove is (sim2)
2-Flash new image for new sim (A8P) by using web page
3-Turn power off
4-Now replace old sim with new one
5-turn power on

Hi Fairbird,
Re the above, that's exactly how I prepared the box for the new a8p sim.
I've identified the problem, it's either my copy of optiflash or the 2.0.0.9 version with windows XP. I've tried flashing the box with version 2.0.0.3 and no problem, full com port functionality. The problem is it won't accept my registration key, even though the request key is the same!!
I've even tried putting v2.0.0.9 in the recycle bin but it made no difference.
Any ideas on how to get v2.0.0.3 registered?
Cheers

Dave

Hi Fairbird,

Do you know what is happening about my registration key problems??
I've found copies of version 1.0.9b and V 2.0.0c both start up without the error message so I think they may work, but neither will allow me to register.
I'm going to have to make a decision on what to do with this box pretty soon, as I'm going to miss the deadline for returning the sim a8p and getting a refund!!

Cheers

Dave
