You Sir are a legend! Folks few tips if you come accross this thread with the same error.
1. Open the box up and check which sim you have - Ferrarri in this case
2. If you get the error relax
3. Get yourself signed up to this forum :)
Thanks for all the help. I ended up going with: OpenBlackHole_Ferrari-dm800se_SSL82F_DTS_CrossEPG_Cron_DEBHGUI_with_AUTO-DVBT_DynDNS_v3 found on the Ferrar forums mentioned below.

P.S. make sure you have a micro usb cable to run from your latptop to the service port on the back of your Dreambox 800SE. Google "CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_Vista_7" to get the driver for the cable.
