write boatloader - nothing happens - sjonnie - 05-14-2014

Hi,

I have dm800 clone with a defective sim2.01 so I bought a A8P sim.
Now I try to get the box working again.

I used serial cable, LD2 loader and tried to flash a original SSL84 into the box but nothing happens after selecting the right .nfi file.

onlything I get is:
--
Power ON DB Device [ESC to Abort]
DM800HD Detected !
Dreambox Detected...Ok!
Sending Flash Loader...
Second Stage OK!
Boot Success & Ready For Job Process!
Name: secondstage-dm800-84.nfi
FSize: 149488 bytes
--
But flashing doens't happen after selecting the NFI. I immediatly get "do job" again as if it's ready.

When I select the LD1 loader it starts flashing nicely, but after restart I get errror: no CA found

help/suggestion is welcome

cheers
roger

Because you have took wrong way...
1-First solve your problem (return back old sim to box and fix No C Found)
2-after fix it box and boot again then don't change sim, keep old inside box don't remove it.

How is the replacement of a sim versus another sim:
*Keep old sim in box
*Flash new image for new sim(a8p) original image (If you get problem to flash then flash SSl84 then directly flash image don't close box)
*Turn off power from box
*Now change sim
*Turn power on

Yes I know, but my old sim 2.01 is dead. If I remove the old sim completely I get the same error, so it must be dead. So I hope for another solution to get it working again else I first need to but a 2.01 sim

Then put new sim and try to flash first bootloader by using (Null modem cable only without Network lan.) method..
[Only registered and activated users can see links You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login to view.]

And if flashing done successfully then turn off power and flash new original image by web page..

P.s:optiflasher not free for A8P sim (original) box you need to make donation to get pro key ...or use DreamUp Last version v1.3.3.11

Thanks, I got the license key today so I can use all features.
Actually I managed, by help of a omnikey 6121, and a tool called dm_sims_0.7 to get my old 2.01 sim working again.
So I put the 2.01 sim in the box and tried to first upload ssl84 but didn't succeed. Got always the error that it was a wrong version or bad crc. Anyway I used Optiflashed to get SSL84 in the box and also flashed an openpli.
Somehow this won't get the box working. Put my new A8P sim in it and always get the no CA error..
Tried many things like re-flashing ssl84 via optiflasher. Tried "repair [no ca found]" (but I guess that's not ment for A8P sim)
Now when I flash via serial link SSL84 into the box, after flash (without reboot) it gets an ipaddress. So I can also flash ssl84 via webbrowser. Makes no difference either. Every reboot gives me an CA error with the A8P sim in it. Any suggestions what might go wrong?

RE: write boatloader - nothing happens - fairbird - 05-15-2014

First things you must be to do it... fix box (No Ca found) with null cable (rs232) only...You can not fix your box by lan cable...

So if you get problem to flash new image ..
-Try another null cable (Rs232)
-Try another Pc

Are you sure this fix should work with A8P sim?
After choosing LD2 loader, serial link I get:
--
Power ON DB Device [ESC to Abort]
DM800HD Detected !
Dreambox Detected...Ok!
Sending Flash Loader...
Second Stage OK!
Boot Success & Ready For Job Process!
I/O error 6
EInOutError
--

The dm800 display shows an ipaddres, so looks like if it was succesfull. After reboot same "no ca found"

And some additional info. When I connect with putty over serial I get:

Any clue how to fix the CA error?

RE: write boatloader - nothing happens - daroger - 05-15-2014

After experimenting more with Optiflasher I'm sure that Optiflasher doesn't support A8P in combination with no CA error. I can't select "A8P sim" while I click on "repair [no ca found]". If I continue without selecting the sim I get this error:
--
Power ON DB Device [ESC to Abort]
DM800HD Detected !
Dreambox Detected...Ok!
Sending Flash Loader...
Second Stage OK!
Boot Success & Ready For Job Process!
I/O error 6
EInOutError
--

Is it known when A8P will be supported for repair?

RE: write boatloader - nothing happens - fairbird - 05-15-2014

Opsssss....
I Forget ....
SimA8P just for DM500HD and 800se there is no simA8P for DM800HD....
Did you ask the seller is SIMA8P For DM800HD?
